Infrastructure.
The Blue Parkway bridge in east KC has been busted up for a couple of years. No rush in getting it back up. I’ve already highlighted this. They broke down the Noland Rd (over I-70) bridge and rebuilt it. They’ve done a masterful job on the Pryor Rd (over I-470 in Lee’s Summit) and created a bridge out of nothing. All the while, two guys and a hammer are trying to do the bridge in midtown.
Well, Mark Funkhouser has told officials that a timetable that was established for a bridge in the northland is unacceptable. It’s good that he’s staying true to his “section of town”.

What does the Noland Road over I-70 (MoDOT and Independence) and Pryor Road (MoDOT and Lee’s Summit) have to do with mayor Funkhouser? Blue Parkway is open to traffic, Rush creek is not.

Wayne,
You prove my point. Look at how those cities (along with MoDOT) were able to get their bridges and projects up before Blue Parkway. All I’m saying is that they started after the Blue Parkway work had begun, and finished long before.
I haven’t heard the mayor telling the construction crews out there to hurry things up. It is primarily in the black community, but serves as a conduit for many people from Raytown/Lee’s Summit who are coming into the city’s midtown.
See my point?
