I have tried to take a step back from the annual KC murderous weekends that have become a staple of the city nightlife. If people aren’t getting run over on the highway at night, or being hit head on by people driving on the wrong side of the road, then they are either meeting death by stabbings or bullets.
After a while, it can be very depressing. That’s where yours truly comes in. I got a bit tired of the same old story. No one really seems to care about what in the world is going on in Kansas City. Honestly, I don’t know where to start.
As usual, we like to lay blame for the issues of today at the feet of someone else. I guess we can blame Joe Biden for the KC crime trend. I mean, he’s the new guy, right? Yeah, you know what they say…blame the last guy hired.
It would be too easy to blame the mayor. It is also an easy task to point the finger at the police chief. Heck, while we’re at it, we might as well blame the mayor’s wife. She’s too busy with her feet on some desk as she spits out racial slurs.
At the end of the day, while all of that blaming might feel good, you still have to get back to who is really at fault. Where are the parents? Who’s raising these people? Can you continue to point your life’s failure at the steps of the Kansas City school district? I think not. While they didn’t do much to prepare you for college, it’s not like they led you to a life of drugs and guns either.
That’s all I’m wondering. The train left the track when these kids started having kids. The wheels fell off the bus when the baby daddies pulled their pants up, never to be seen/heard from again. The city is eating itself up from the inside out. The crime in the inner city has gotten so violent and out of hand, that it frightens me more than when I was dodging bullets in Iraq. That should never be. Not in America.
Yes, times are hard. They’re hard for everyone. Ask Ed McMahon. He’s not laughing as much anymore. Tell the sad stories to the banks that are failing every day. I spoke to an old friend who works at the Federal Reserve Bank and she stated that job security is good with all these banks closing. On one hand it’s funny. On the other, it isn’t.
Something needs to be done to reach these kids. Sure, you might not have the best of this or that, but that is no reason for you to mail your life in as a teen. Get a job. Learn a trade. Work at something positive. Do something with your life and quit taking the lives of others.
This is getting old.
What brought this rant on?
This.
