No time for waste

The pain of the pump is plowing through the purses and pockets of people.  Poor people and rich folks alike.  You should have known that things were bad when they dropped Ed McMahon under the bus last week and put out that he was going under foreclosure.  I don’t know how the rich keep up on their payments or if they are smart enough to just buy their property with their fat paychecks, but I’m trying to make sure that I keep Countrywide off my back.  It’s funny, I’ve never been late on a mortgage payment (thankfully), but I notice that they never call me.  I imagine that if I was late, they’d be on the horn.  The least they could do is to just call and see if there’s anything they can do make my mortgage more enjoyable.

Never that.

That’s why you shouldn’t be surprised to know that local pantries are getting overworked as more and more “common” people are coming in for food and assistance.  These aren’t days to be prideful.  Everyone is hurting and no one has time to be looking down on anyone.  Matter of fact, things are so tight that I’m not even wasting food much anymore.  I ate all of my fries from Arby’s today.  Even the crunchy burnt ones at the bottom of the bag.
