Karl Malone, the former NBA All Star power forward is a deadbeat dad. Oh, if the numbers are correct, he should have never become the “mailman”. Instead, he should have been the “jailman”.
I’m linking this story that has resurfaced out of Buffalo about his son, Demetrius Bell. Bell was just drafted in the 7th round by the Buffalo Bills.
Long story short, Bell is the son of Malone. Bell didn’t meet his dad until after he graduated high school. Heck, he didn’t even know Malone was his father until after he was 18. What went down at this meeting was just straight foul.
Malone told his son that, “it is too late” for him (Malone) to be his father. Too late? What the heck you mean? He took it a step further and told the kid that he wouldn’t be getting any of that NBA money from Dad. He would have to find a way to make his own money.
The funny thing is that the mother of Bell was reportedly 13 when she had him. Malone was a sophomore in college at the time. The family could have pressed charges against him. They didn’t. I’m not sure why they didn’t. Malone gives men a bad name.
