This was one goofy press conference. Michael Beasley was all giggly and tickled before he announced he was stepping off the campus of Manhattan. The guy had to be the most unprepared that I’ve seen anyone in this position. Especially due to the fact that this announcement has been on the calendar for a couple of weeks.
Beasley thanked the school for the scholarship. As I go into my pocket Urban Dictionary, I read between that and see that Mike is basically saying, “thanks for the chance to hang out here while I fulfilled the 1 year college requirement by the NBA. I don’t need your stinkin scholarship!!!”
What a crock. Beasley is a super talent. He should have been able to make this announcement back when K-State got waxed by those white boys at Wisconsin. Nonetheless, they drug this thing out and it was pretty noneventful.
Congrats Mike. Make it rain on them foes.
