As if the post game celebration didn’t leave enough trash for city workers, the announcement of a parade for the mens basketball team , who received the gift from Memphis, will be held on Sunday.
The rowdy college town was trying to clean up from an impromptu party in the downtown streets that convened after Monday night’s game. Thousands of empty beer bottles, cigarette butts, and other items of garbage, were strategically left on the downtown streets in honor of the boys basketball team.
These same fans will be back out on Sunday to do it again. I’m just letting my 3 readers from the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department know that they’ll be busy on Monday.
Moral of the story? Coming in second means cleaner streets.
